Pastures Farm is a family-run poultry farm, shop & cafe situated on the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire border between the market town of Olney and the beautiful village of Yardley Hastings. With great views of Yardley Chase, a large ancient woodland to the south-east, the farm is surrounded by fields.
We pride ourselves on top quality poultry and offer a selection of high-quality produce, both homemade and locally sourced.
A Family Trade…
After learning the ropes in his younger years with his father Tony at Olney Park Farm, James then graduated from Harper Adams Agricultural College in 1990 and began to farm at Pastures in 2000.
The Farm Shop & Cafe opened a few years ago and has become a popular destination for a cuppa, light lunch and to purchase some homemade goodies. We love a chat so pop in and see us or catch up with us at a farmer’s market.
Passionate About Poultry
We know our birds!
With over 30 years of experience James has extensive knowledge of his birds which ensures our poultry is free-range, healthy and naturally reared. We rear our free-range birds on the farm’s grass fields, where they can bask in the English sun while our Barn Reared birds have clean dry straw daily with lots of space.
All our processing carried out on the farm so zero food miles, then the meat is hung for up to 10 days to achieve that matured flavour. We have skilled butchers on-site who prepare the birds and make them oven ready for you.
Throughout the year you’ll find fresh free-range Chickens, Ducks and Guinea Fowl while at Christmas we have our Norfolk Bronze Turkeys and Geese.
You’ll often see the whole family helping out including daughter Lottie and Maisy our ‘Guard’ dog!
Pastures Farm Shop
Our lovely little café contains all our homemade produce, from a slice of delicious cake to a warm handmade pasty and salad plus regular specials. We also have a ‘proper’ coffee machine and freshly grind our beans daily for a truly tasty cuppa!
We always have a range of fresh and frozen poultry as well as homemade pies, pasties, sausage rolls, quiche, cakes, puddings and homemade preserves.
We source beef, lamb and pork from local producers and keep a range local of cheeses, bread, milk, beer, gins and ice cream. We proudly stock Rapeseed Oil and Gins by The Fruity Farm, Stoke Goldington, Ale & Cider from Northamptonshire and Dairy and Goats Ice cream both from Northamptonshire. We sell and serve in our cafe Whittlebury Bakery Bread.

Farmers Markets
We attend farmers markets on a regular basis where we have not only our free-range poultry but many other items from our farm shop. So, whether you’re after home-made pies and cakes or succulent joints of meat from ourselves or other respected local producers our stall is not one to miss!
What’s more, you can pre-order online for collection at any of the farmers markets!
Every Sunday you can find us at the following London markets: London Fields, Hackney and Walthamstow.
Once a month, you can find us in St Ives (First Saturday), Winslow (First Sunday), Oundle (Second Saturday), Olney (First Sunday), Stony Stratford (Last Friday) and Higham Ferrers (Last Saturday).
In the Community
We also take part in many local events cooking up delicious Duck and Chicken Wraps, Chicken Satays, Tandoori Chicken, Homemade Sausages and Chicken Burgers. You will also see us showcasing our free-range Turkeys at Dickens of a Christmas in Olney in December, serving up Hot Turkey Rolls with Stuffing and Cranberry. Yum!
